Hello guys!

Here we go once again with our SP getting to know time Wink

As it was in the past, I know this topic has been talked about informally, if not by all, but among The Forum Veterans.

Thank you all in advance for sharing your good thoughts with us. Wink

Do you think Siam Pinoy should be beneficial only to Filipinos? Why? Smiley

I don't think so Sir.

My reason is very simple. I think helping doesn't mean for one specific nationality only.

In my own point of view, I don't really care if what nationality are you as long as you ask my services

and time. I'm willing to help most espicially to Thais.

Second we're in the cyber space and people around the world can open our articles and read them.

If some of our articles will cross their path and they'll need our expertise regarding to this, I wont say no.

My point is, I'm not in favor that SP should be beneficial for Filipinos only. I think SP is for everybody.

Keep the Faith!

While the website is called Siam Pinoy I do not think the intention is to make it an exclusively Pinoy forum. The website's intention is to benefit Pinoys living in Thailand. However, persons of other nationalities I believe, are probably welcome to post comments or opinions about issues.

Should SP be an exclusively Pinoy turf?  I don't think that would be a good idea.

Pinoys are known to be hospitable among other nationalities so if other races happen to drop by/join SP, he surely has a good reasons and intentions. Maybe just like other Filipinos, he also wants to seek help/advise from us or maybe he wants to broaden his Filipino friends thru joining SP. As long as hindi sya mambabastos or mangde degrade ng Pinoy then he is most welcome to join. At saka we can also benefit by accommodating other nationalities in our forum; and not only SP can get a good shot but Filipinos in general.

Mater J, why not make a “testimonial” page so everytime we helped others thru SP, we can also ask them to post their testimonial. That way cguro we can justify good things about our website. (suggestion ko lang kc wla akong nakikitang testimonials d2 except sa ibang threads kaso hahalungkatin mo pa para makita mo.. )  At cguro mas maganda kun sa main page ilalagay para kita agad... For me, Online Forum such as SP is like a general bulletin board in school...

In a bulletin board, there are many postings- -announcement of a forthcoming event, general information or even plain greetings. SP have many topics/discussion threads as well from Announcements, General Discussions or even Games thread.

The Bulletin Board is located in a prime, highly visible location for everyone to see- students, teachers or even visitors and not target only a specific audience. Likewise, SP is highly visible in the Internet and targets worldwide audience through search engine.

I do not see any bulletin board that restricts a specific audience to view the information posted that is why I do not agree restricting SP to just Filipinos for that matter.

Cyberspace is an information gateway so all information should be available to everyone.

we live in a small world. we always hear global world, globalization, global community for all races, etc.. so my answer to this question is definitely a big big NO. we are not aristocrats, we are pinoys. pinoys are known for their big arms that is always open for those in need.

we can make this site as big as pacland if we make it international. let's invite more farang posters here. farangs presence here can help us a lot too especially ajarn_ph. imagine our meet ups with plenty of farang. isnt it cool? when it comes to business matters, the more the merrier. farangs can also be a target market. so i suggest to open and advertise this site internationally.

who knows, maybe one of this days the owner of this site might add " a dating chat sessions " exclusive for single pinays. more power to the administrators, moderators and members of this site.

Thank you Ms. Demi Noor I couldn't agree with you more. Once they see that SP forumers are happily receiving them here then perhaps SP has done what it's suppose to do. But of course, tayo din na mga forumers have part to do. Kaya ang success ng SP ay hindi lang nakasalalay sa isa o dalawang tao. Kundi pati na rin sa mga enthusiastic and sensible people na nagpopost dito araw-araw 24/7. Maraming salamat sa inyo.

Yes, you reap what you sow here at SP should I say. For first timers, may they be Farangs or Filipinos, if they give RESPECT to forumers here, they will also get RESPECT. And then SP will be beneficial to everybody and not only Pinoys.

Since I joined SiamPinoy more than 2 years ago, i have seen how it evolved and developed to what it is now.  A Pinoy virtual community that have helped a lot of lonely Pinoys staying in the Kingdom like me. But membership is not, has never been, and should never be restricted to Pinoys only.  Some serious discussions in SP give insights to certain topics which may be beneficial to non-Pinoy members as well.

As with any other websites or community forums, SiamPinoy is sitting on cyberspace which means this site is accessible by anyone, anywhere in the world.  I've seen non-Pinoys come & go in the forum and i see it as a positive outlook on where SP is going.  We are giving them impressions, good or bad, of what Pinoys truly are and we should learn from these.

Any comments a member posts in the forum comes a personal responsibility in keeping with the rules & regulations.  We, as members of SP community, must help maintain the integrity of this forum; providing a happy & friendly atmosphere to ANYONE & EVERYONE visiting this site.

This forum should be beneficial TO FILIPINOS living in Thailand. This is all about - Filipinos Expats Community in Thailand. It should be beneficial also to foreigners but it would be difficult since the discussion is mostly for Filipinos. We can cater this forum to foreigners but how can it be beneficial for them? At what aspects we can entice foreigners to join here?  Huh?

Thank you Captain D. for your valuable insights. Pacland, wow! That would really be the day. I know how hard you guys try and promote SP to a lot of people and not just our kababayans. And SP is very thankful to you all for that. But despite of some quirks  (you know what I mean Captain D.), you guys are still here happily supporting our forum without fail. Please always remember that SP's success is also your success. This is an eye opener so more inputs please...Smiley

I do believe that SP should be open and ready to help, not only Filipinos but other nationalities as well though Filipinos should be on top. However, helping people as the an objective of the SP must not have any limitations when it comes to race. Remember that right now we are living in a foreign land.

Personally, when I first came to Bangkok and no Pinoy friends yet, there is a group of foreigners that welcomes me and helps me a lot and i'm still connected to them, not being descriminated as to race is a great feeling.

We, in SP, being the most hospitable people must help whenever we can. Many discussions here in SP are really beneficial not only to Filipinos but to other nationalities living and visiting Thailand too. Like the Golden Rule says.. "Do unto others what you want them to do unto you." We must not limit ourselves in doing good because times might come when we need help and other races are there to be of help.

The fact that SP members are getting bigger only shows that we, here in SP did something for their decision to join. But being a member must also comes with a responsibility, not just the administrator nor the moderators. SP meaning US being responsible and justified with our postings, ready to accept others opinions, and must be open-minded because everyone have different personal culture. Like what Master J says, we cannot please everybody, let's just give respect then as to their own views and comments. Do not let our personal intentions get in the way for this will ruin our online community.

For me, SP is one of the blessings that comes my way here in Thailand and I am very greatful for that.

We know na dami na ring natulungan (Pinoys and non-Pinoys) ang SP but we still remain humble and ready to help in whatever way we can possible.

You are right Pareng Woz, remember that TEFL watch incident before where our westerner friends could not understand part of the discussions here? Perhaps we could start  in our teacher's forum thread by posting all in English.

Thank you Ms. RB for the warm reply. And I am happy to hear about your good experience with your first foreigner friends here in Thailand. The more reason that SP should be more open to other nationals.

Yes, respect begets respect. And I believe that is what we have within us SP forumers. But based on what I learned from the past, those who have allowed their personal intentions to creep in, then that's it for them. They will never ever see the light Wink For SP forumers are smart and intelligent enough to see what's coming. That is why, SP must not limit it's services to Filipinos only should making it GREAT is what we want. Wink

Thank you!

As a Filipino, we are well-known by everybody to be gracious in offering a friendly welcome to our guest. I would say that we should not limit "our site" solely for us.

When I sarted working here in Thailand I was worried because i didn't have an idea in how to work for my visa run nor any requirements to gain my work permit. Good thing that i was able to sign-up ang be a part of this site and learn everything from it.

I think we should be compassionate for those Farangs who also feel the same feeling with us. We should open our entryway of information, happiness, comfort and entertainment to them for they are also an expats who are trying their luck at The Land of Smile.

my thoughts  Wink
