To live in a country where the foremost belief is not the same as yours is very challenging...it makes it easy to forget to pray, to be kind to your fellowmen, and to veer away from vices and the pursuit of the material. Sometimes, you vent out your frustrations, disappointments, loneliness and anger on people who are clueless of where you are coming from and why you are doing the things you are doing.

Take time to draw out goodness in your heart, most especially when you are forced to do evil.

And when you go to church tomorrow, don't spend time making sure you are dressed well enough; don't worry too much if your worst enemy will be there too and will probably wear better clothes than you. Spend time thanking your maker that you had the opportunity to see a part of the world in a place they call Thailand, and that at Christmas time, you will make some family members happy with your little gift during noche buena.And after mass, go out with friends, and don't fret so much that you only have enough money to buy bam-i nam in front of 7-eleven, outside church.

Life will always have ups and downs, but your positive attitude will always land you in good stead. And when things just become unbearable and you have a need to shout and scream  ... here's SP, a silent comfort to you Pinoys in Thailand, who just like everybody else in other parts of the world, wish you can wake up to a much better, much happier, much loving and much peaceful world when tomorrow comes.

am just wondering if the PAD do get their way, resulting to a government change as Somchai resigns, then all the redshirts has gotta do is close down airports and taking over government house to bring Somchai and the PPP back.  coz that's the way they do things here.

THE CARPENTER

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by.

The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.

When the carpenter finished his work the employer came to inspect the house. He handed the front-door key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said, "my gift to you". The carpenter was shocked! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.

So it is with us. We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting less than our best into the building. Then with a shock we realize we have to live in the house we have built. If we could do it over, we'd do it much differently. But we cannot go back.

You are the carpenter. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall.
