What you only need aside from the ADSL subscription are free skype accounts for you and your contacts.  i got one of this free from my supplier and am using it now to call my family back home.  the way it works is that you can do skype-to-skype calls without using your computer.  btw, this phone also works as an ordinary wireless "landline" phone.
