A wrong use of preposition leads to wrong message.

Write you answer on the answer sheet. vs. Write your answer in the answer sheet.

I have checked the web both can be found and in use.Your thoughts...

WARNING: Adult joke ahead!

To illustrate how awkward it is to place a preposition at the end of sentences, here's a conversation that goes really bad:

"Manager running his business discovers that the business is not faring so well, and he must get rid of one of his employees.
He narrows it down to one of two - either Jack, or Helen.
He goes first to Helen and says "Helen, I have to lay you or Jack off."
"Jack off then" replies Helen "I have a headache."

honestly i already forgot about preposition, i dont even know what it is.

but i need to say my thoughts so i got to use logic or an educated-guess on how to write about something.

so...

on is like sit on the table where you are on top of it.

in is like "knock knock whose dear?" and you say "come in the door please."

well.. so i would go for "Write you answer on the answer sheet" coz i have never seen a one page paper with a door.

unless the sheet is inside an anwer book of many pages then its in.

but some say "sit in the chair" coz sometimes chairs have elbow rest that partly engulfs you.

but if the chair has no "elbow rest" just plain flat chair where you sit on it coz how could you sit inside the chair?

fish yo!

Enjoy life. This is not a dress rehearsal.

I prefer 'on' just like the 'the picture is on the wall' and not 'the picture is in the wall.' During a grammar class I had with adult learners (25-50 years old), I came across with prepositions as one of my lessons. One student asked me the proper usage of "in" and "on" and then I replied, "Use 'in' when you mean inside or within something while 'on' when you mean on the top of something."

Write your answer in the box.
Write your answer on the blank.

Write you answer on the answer sheet. vs. Write your answer in the answer sheet.

It is ON maybe because its refering the verb (write) to the top of sheet.

It will be IN maybe because its focusing the objective noun (sheet) whether the sheet is folded or scratches. it must be in the sheet.

but I go for ON because it always fresh...lol

just my halfcents don't make serious i'm not an English major and holding my ears in my college days...lol
