I will speak in English whenever I want to speak in English and there is nothing you can do about it. I do not mean to INSULT you or to belittle you if you do not post in English. You are free to respond in Tagalog if you want to.  (OT Off)

i think that is very unfair to say. you should not say like that!

it is a very complicated world!  we live in a very complicated world!  your world maybe different from theirs.

so please do not judge without considering the proper evidence of their love story!

am i saying that what they do is wrong? i don't know kasi di ko alam ang full life story nila.

i say again hindi po sila mga kriminal! mga normal na tao po sila just like you and me. they are just humans born to make mistakes just like YOU and ME!

we live in a very complicated world! so be careful what you say if you do not understand!

« Reply #52 on: June 29, 2009, 06:43:18 AM »

well morality really confuses us..especially how we will be able to differentiate between objective morality and relative morality...

..like for example in area of moral psychology focuses on whether there is a distinctly female approach to morality that is grounded in the psychological differences between men and women. Discussions of this issue focus on two claims: (1) traditional morality is male-centered, and (2) there is a unique female perspective of the world which can be shaped into a value theory. According to many feminist philosophers, traditional morality is male-centered since it is modeled after practices that have been traditionally male-dominated, such as acquiring property, engaging in business contracts, and governing societies. The rigid systems of rules required for trade and government were then taken as models for the creation of equally rigid systems of moral rules, such as lists of rights and duties. Women, by contrast, have traditionally had a nurturing role by raising children and overseeing domestic life. These tasks require less rule following, and more spontaneous and creative action. Using the woman's experience as a model for moral theory, then, the basis of morality would be spontaneously caring for others as would be appropriate in each unique circumstance. On this model, the agent becomes part of the situation and acts caringly within that context. This stands in contrast with male-modeled morality where the agent is a mechanical actor who performs his required duty, but can remain distanced from and unaffected by the situation. A care-based approach to morality, as it is sometimes called, is offered by feminist ethicists as either a replacement for or a supplement to traditional male-modeled moral systems.

kaya nga siguro when we answer the question on.. "what is morality?" we have different opinion.. Grin kaya naging "suspended morality''!!!  The Yahoo

everything that we do should be based on this unchanging principle.. right versus wrong. Is it right to have a girlfriend when you already have a wife.. or a girl to make patol to a man when she knows he already has a wife?
or mandukot or manloko sa kapuwa mo? culture and /or religion are not even excuses.. no culture will teach or encourage you or do these thing.. neither does any religion.. you don't suspend morality.. either you follow it or you don't. Immoral ang tawag sa hindi nagfollow. Amoral sa walang qualms of doing things  because they don't care at all or don't have any..

Ongbak,  I would like to read an elaboration on objective and relative morality. Thanks

objective morality -"other-worldly" hold that moral values are objective in the sense that they exist in a spirit-like realm beyond subjective human conventions. in simple words..galing sa utos ng Dyos..They also hold that they are absolute, or eternal, in that they never change, and also that they are universal insofar as they apply to all rational creatures around the world and throughout time. Example "murder is wrong" ; etc.

However, relative morality skeptically denies the objective status of moral values.  There are two distinct forms in relative first is individual relativism. As what they philosopher says "strictly human inventions", which holds that individual people create their own moral standards. The second is cultural relativism which maintains that morality is grounded in the approval of one's society - and not simply in the preferences of individual people.

Is it really like this or were these people just continuing what they were doing in the Philippines? Were they already like this even before they came here? Or were they just tempted?
