Hi Guys,
My name is George, isa't kalahating buan pa lang ako dito sa Bangkok, nagtratrabaho ako sa isang technology company(IT). Nung nasa pinas pa ako, I use to go treking/mounteneering, join marathons, basketball. Kung may groupo dyan sana makasali ako.
Nakakatuwa naman to know that buhay na huya yung filipino community sa BKK, at maaari bang maki-gulo sa inyo sa susunod niyong "Meet & greet party"?
At may marerecommend ba kayong filipino restaurant? miss ko na yung adobo at sinigang, kumain ako sa Little Home last sunday at yung Adobo nila lasang Paksiw at yung sinigang nila lasang.....actaually hindi ko alam kung anong lasa kasi walang lasa eh....
Gayun paman natuwa pa din ako kasi nakakain ako ng "paksiw" at "Chopsuey Soup", a slice of home.
And lastly may catholic church ba dito? I live in the area of soi Ari, I don't mind kahit medyo malayo tutal pag nasa BTS ka na 20 mins lang naman either direction eh.
More power to you guys, looking forward to the day na makikilala ko na kayo. Maraming Salamat

Welcome Gtam71 or George!! Enjoy the SP world! If I remember Soi Ari correctly, you are nearer to Chatuchak - so you can go to the Catholic Church in St. John's, just opposite. It's been a while since I was in Bangkok so the schedules might have changed.

Welcome to Siam Pinoy! Glad you found us. Yes, Silversurfer is right on with that suggestion - St. John's can be reached by getting on the BTS to Morchit. But you'll have to hop on a taxi to get to St. John's church coz it's a bit of a walk. If you get on the MRT, get off Phahon Yothin station and exit through Lathprao Soi 4. Then you can just walk on towards Soi 2. St John's Church is right inside Lathprao Soi 2. English mass on Sundays start at 10.30. However, if you want to hit two birds with one stone, you might want to try going to Redeemer Chruch on Soi Redeemer (at the end of Phloenchit Road). You get off Phloenchit station and get on a motorcycle and say "pai bot". I haven't gone there for a while but i think they have a mass at 8.30 or 9.00am, another one at 11 am and another one at 4.30pm on Sundays. Whichever one you attend, thereafter, you could get on a taxi and tell the driver to head to Phetburi Soi 19 (opposite side of Pantip Plaza) . Take the first left (there's a 7 Eleven at the corner). Then towards the end of the soi, on the left, you'll find one of the most authentic Pinoy restos in town - the Mabuhay Restaurant. If your systolic reading doesn't go beyond 140, then order some bulalo or kare-kare.Their crispy pata is also mouth-watering. But if you're erring towards the healthy, then tinolang bangus, pinakbet or sinigang na isda would be great choices. Enjoy! A little more inside Soi 19 is the Four Seasons Hotel, very Filipino. They also serve some choices of Filipino dishes at the restaurant next to the lobby. We'll definitely count you in on our next meet -up. So stay tuned!

Thank you Silver Surfer and Madam H for the directions. I actually heard mass at Redeemer Church last sunday. After the mass I went to pratunam and was trying to find the Mabuhay Restaurant, but to no avail, I had no idea it was inside a soi and not on the main road. Anyway thanks for the info guys, I'll have another crack at it this sunday, hopefully this time mahanap ko na, and if by any chance you'd be there during that time, just approach me I'll be the guy ordering the Sinigang and Adobo, your lunch is on me.... . Thanks again.

Not very knowledgeable about volleyball. All i know is that there is a team of Thai males (mostly gays)who play at a sports center near us, but i don't know their sched. Your best bet as to the Thailand team jacket is the FBT in Ramkhamhaeng Road, near Ramkhamhaeng University. But don't take my word for it. try getting in touch with the Toursim Authority of Thailand for more info. Enjoy your vacation!
