Mostly this type of people sila di ba yung nangangailangan ng gabay kasi most of them doesnt know na nakakasakit na sila na nakakaistorbo na sila.

We can correct it but in a nice way but we have to understand that this is an online forum and sometimes or most of the times people post without checking what they have posted.

Eto lang ang masasabi ko... Why focus on GRAMMAR? We are here to be happy...

As long as we understand each other, it's all right. Remember, we are in an online forum and we are not reading an online journal or article. WE ARE HERE TO ENJOY!!!

Wink

I've read this from somewhere lately, "Speaking ill about another is a dishonest way of praising oneself."

I think, yun na yun.  Cheesy People who find it hard to love, accept, tolerate, be patient with others, have problems. Either they're so hungry for praise that they can't wait for others to give it to them, so they have to give it to themselves... by hating others through their words and actions.

Or, they find it hard to love themselves, so they make it a point not to love others, too. Para patas, siguro.  Cheesy

"You are not alone
I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart

when people's hate overflow, they infect others to feel hate too when they become so weak.

so both of them are hating, and they are alone no more...

or so they think...

At tama kayong lahat. Kayu-kayo lang nga ang nag-uusap dito. Eh bakit kailangan pang mag english?

hahah... napikon ka na?  hate mo na ko?  why do some people love to hate nga ba?

sorry po, napabilis lang po ang pindot sa KB...  most "forumers" will have this same mistake my dear... you'll never know, you may soon end up making the same mistake because of the distance between your brain and your fingers.  and now that you've started criticizing other's grammar, i bet every time you post your comments in english, you will have to read it twice or thrice just to make sure you don't get a taste of your own medicine...  while most of us just type and submit...

this forum was not created to be a place for someone to criticize somebody else's grammar..  most members joined this community to have fun and enjoy life while away from our beloved islas filipinas... not all members are journalists or english teachers, and even if they are, most of those that i know of will still put some respect on each member's use of their grammar when posting comments...

are you an english teacher?  if you are, then teach "perfect" grammar in your classroom because you are being paid for that...  you may also want to start a thread with the title - "Perfect English Grammar Only! A Single Mistake Will Cost Your Life!"

peace be with you Smiley

I think speaking good English is a learning process. Most Americans or British do not have perfect grammar even though they are native English speakers. We are in this forum to have fun and learn from each other through various topics and discussions. Yes, it helps to correct someone whenever we feel the need to para magkaroon ng improvement but having a flawless English takes constant practice. When I graduated from University, I admit I can speak English but not very well. As I start working, I get to talk to so many people, do Business correspondence everyday and read a lot of stuff from books, newspapers to even Medicine labels. It helped me widen my English vocabulary. Now I am more confident. Nag rexona kasi ako...hahaha.

Seriously, let us not be too stiff here. This is Siam Pinoy, the Filipino Expats Community in Thailand not the Filipino Expats Community of Flawless English Speakers in Thailand.

My piece.

Pakialam mo ba?

Why do some people love to hate? Bakit nga ba? Ah, siguro its hard for them to find love and peace in their heart.

It is so easy to hate a person that rocks the boat. I will post in English because this is the language that I am most comfortable with. I am also not a Cebuano.

Anyway, I believe that posting on this forum is a good opportunity for us to practice our language skills. When we text people using the phone, we are prone to substituting letters or creating a new ones like b4 u go. WRU? etc...

However, let us not get carried away.

It is true that posting in English might not be easy for some pinoys. So let them post in Taglish. Encourage them to improve their English language skills.

Let us not be like the "Talangkka" the pulls other people down.

Except when you are an English Language Teacher - or even a professional.

I believe that if you are a professional, you should at least have passable English langauge skills. Otherwise, what would your colleagues think of you? You got your diploma from a printing factory?

Isn't that something that is also important to us pinoys - Saving face (Pagmumukha??)?

If (then president) Erap spoke in broken English at a UN conference, wouldn't that bring shame to the Filipino people?

"If (then president) Erap spoke in broken English at a UN conference, wouldn't that bring shame to the Filipino people?"

Nope... kc as fas as I know, Filipinos are still known as a good English speaking nation and it's not just because our President speaks barok english, it means that all Filipinos speaks barok english too! But do you really believe na barok sya mg English? I don't think so, maybe he's just not comfortable speaking in English.

Good example is Manny P... sa bawat interview kay Manny everytime he won a fight, kinakahiya nyo ba sya? Hindi di ba? In fact, saludo ako sa kanya kc kahit hirap syang mg english, sya mismo ngsasabi ng gusto nyang sabihin sa buong mundo unlike others like Mexican fighters na dinadaan sa Translator. English need practice, kya kun masyado nyo pinupuna ang english grammar ng ibang tao, how can he/she learn? And it doesnt mean because you are a president or an MD, kailangan mo na tlaga ng perfect grammar. Being a leader is not just about grammar, it is how you handle/ solve problems and how you speak so you can reach the heart of your people.

I believe that if you are a professional, you should at least have passable English langauge skills. Otherwise, what would your colleagues think of you? You got your diploma from a printing factory?

Hindi ako magaling mg english kc hindi rin ako komportable and I can't speak very well kc medyo ngongo ako.. does it mean my diploma came from a printing company? I have 2 Diplomas, my BS and my GD, difinitely not an English major diploma kc Economics course ako, my GD in Economics average is 1.65, and if ever nging magaling akong ekonomista ng Pilipinas tapos d ako magaling mg english, galing din sa printing factory diploma ko? D cguro... u will become what u are not just because u speak english very well.. most people get a promotion because they have a powerful mind solving problems and because they can handle/manage people, hindi dahil sa magaling silang mg english.. I know a lot of people na sobra kung mg english parang netibong Americano pro ipanalyze mo naman ng problem, capital ZERO...
