Peace to all! Grin

Glad to be here! sarap ng may nagwelcome...

Im here sa Manila, mejo stagnant ang buhay...

balak kong bumalik jan, baka sa Songkran. actually my GF is working in Ayutthaya. nagvisit ako last year for 3 months, and tried my luck kung makakauha ng work, pero usually mga teachers ang kinukuha, with certifications or native english chorvah! niwei, di ako nakakuha.

But the experience was worth it! I had a blast... been to Koh Samed, i ate the food and breathed the air ...everything was great.

Godspeed sa lahat... all the best sa inyo!

Buco_joe,

Most start off working as teachers, but  with hard work, meeting more people, breathing more of the air, and sharing the Thai food with more kababayans, more often than not, people do find the job they want.i think defect and Maldita are the best examples. Now, they have the jobs they want.

Just thought you might want to consider that. Not necessary to be a native speaker, thought it helps A LOT! But having a minimum teacher's cert and perhaps some experience would help aplenty!

PM Master J, or anyone of us here if you're coming in Songkran. We might have a chance to meet.

Meanwhile, please update us on what's up (or down  Sad) back home pag may time ka... Angry

salamat sa suggestions... yup! ill be posting evrybody as soon as punta na ko jan. sana nga for good na ngaun.

Englishman in Bangkok

« Reply #17 on: February 21, 2008, 01:17:33 AM »

Are English guys allowed to join here?

I have a valid reason which I will go into on the relevant forum, basically I am trying to help a Pinoy I know get work in Bangkok or maybe study here.

She's not had the best breaks in life but her English is good and she's a qualified nursing assistant. She's neither a singer/musician or a qualified teacher so I am wondering what her options are. She's very conservative and decent with a quiet personality and she'd make a good nanny or kindergarten teacher.

If her job options are limited or almost impossible, maybe she could study here?

Anyway - hello everyone, a bit about myself...  I have been to the Philippines twice but only stayed in San Fernando (Pamp) so I've not seen much of the country and am not really in a position to judge it. Have to admit I couldn't live in San Fernando but I would like to see more of the country if and when I visit a third time.

I am living in Bangkok and have a small videography business catering for expats who require movies of their party, wedding or children - anything really as long as it's legal.

Thankyou.  Smiley

I've just realised, maybe I should have chosen a username that was less of a mouthful - you can't even abbreviate it!
