Our kids go to an international school kasi libre, dala ng doon me nagwowork.

However, one thing na gusto ko sanang maexperience nila is socializing with other Pinoy kids, kasi hindi lang social skills makukuha nila, but also cultural input ng pagka-Pinoy.

I guess it would take an investor who supports this cause 101% for it to even start. Kasi teachers-wise and curriculum design wise, we will have  so much talent and skills with Pinoy educators who are here. So habang walang nagbabalak mag-invest, or group who wish to start putting money together for this, malayo pa nating marealize ang dream na to.

But I would be so happy to see more ideas here regarding this matter. If someone or a group would like to start thinking about the possibilities along this line, we will be there to support the cause. Fact is,there are a growing number of Pinoy kids now living n Bangkok, and many more who wish to bring their kids over.

Magandang2x idea yan! Thanks C Pinoy for bringing it up! I'll remember that you're the first one to have brought up the idea here sa forum natin. I hope we will gather enough support for your idea.

Maraming salamat erick, hugoweb, madam h, master j, and bol-anon for your initial views.

Erick, tama ka pards, there are lots of international schools here. But so far I have yet to find an primary school that offers a tuition fee below Bt60,000 and registration fee (for starters) below Bt60,000. So sa mga parents na may new enrolees (say grade 4), they have to spend a whopping Bt140,000 plus (including books and uniform). In many of the schools na binisita or tinawagan ko, not less than Bt200,000 ang singil nila. Buti yong ibang parents, like Madam_H, her school takes care of the fees, pero papaano na ung iba.

Madam H, tama ka, we need investors to support the project and that no problems in terms of teaching pool requirements. Perhaps to keep this topic rolling, we need to identify which step to take first. Towards this end, hindi kaya magandang simulan ng SP, in coordination with other Filipino groups here, ang isang survey para malaman ang pulso ng mga kababayan natin at kung ilan ang possible enrolees? As an intial step, SP can probably undertake a web-based survey or quickvote, similar to those we see in various news sites (I’m sure kayang kaya ito ni Master J Grin). How about an SP email blast for the quickvote/ survey.

Master J and all, thanks for appreciating the significance of this topic. Thai-Filipino International School or TFIS is ok!

While the other topics in SP’s forum page are truly important issues, I believe this one deserves a little more attention. And putting a link about it in the SP main page would provide the focus and attention it so deserves.

Peace and prosperity to all!

Thanks for the link, hugoweb.

It’s good to know that “43 Philippine schools overseas have been established and made operational in nine countries – Bahrain, China, Greece, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates,” and that DFA is one of the co-chair of the IACPSO which “coordinates inter-agency policy and program initiatives to assist in the establishment and standardization of Philippine schools overseas.”

Perhaps our Embassy can help in a future paper-based survey by way of making the said CFO form available at its consular section. And with vigorous representation by SP and other members of the Filipino community, the Embassy might even take care of reproducing the form and disseminating the same to its daily clients.

Master J, maraming salamat for committing to look into the possibility of a web-based survey on this topic.

Happy holiday to all! Grin
