it's good that other Pinoys are interested in our long-forgotten writing system.
While I was studying how to read and write the Thai scripts, my wife once asked me if I could also teach her Filipino writing, I proudly replied that we use the English alphabets. She then gave me a puzzled look and replied "it's farang writing, not yours!" It was like a knock on the head, she was right, and here I am trying to learn yet another foreign writing system. So that got me really curious. Then by coincidence, being an avid contact sports enthusiast that I am, I saw Brandon Vera on cable tv, a popular MMA fighter proudly waving a Philippine flag with stange symbols tattooed on his back, when interviewed he said that the symbols on his back were not Thai buddhist mantra like Angelina Jolie's, but is a prayer written in ancient Filipino scripts - the Alibata! That got me really excited.
