(PSTAT just called me up for the changes on training dates and training fee. I'm very sorry.)

The Filipino Educators Council in Thailand (FECT) was able to schedule the first Filipino Teachers' 20-HOUR TRAINING ON THAI CULTURE & PROFESSIONAL ETHICS in coordination with the Private School Teachers’ Association of Thailand (PSTAT) (under the supervision of Dr. Usira, the President and appointed by the Teacher Council of Thailand) on May 23, 24 & 25, 2008 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday).   For sure this training will be held in Bangkok.  Please keep on checking this thread for the VENUE.

VENUE: TBA (Central Bangkok) (AFT and/or Filipino Educators Council Sponsorship)

FOOD & SNACKS: Bring your own food (AFT and/or Filipino Educators Council Sponsorship)

TRAINING FEE: 1, 800.00 Baht only (The training fee includes the teacher training certificate and the trainers’ fee and obviously NOT the venue and food/snacks; it is also affordable because of the NUMBER of the participants).

I hope there is non-Saturday sched, since Adventists cannot attend any other non-church-related meetings on Saturdays.

It's a good news sir. I have called an emergency meeting this Sunday for FBFT and this will be one of our agenda.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

A. From your school:
1. Please check: www.ksp.or.th for the COMPLETE LIST OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ( You need a THAI to help you find that list in the site.  We are still trying to get the ENGLISH TRANSLATION of the list.  Please stand-by.)  Some of the required documents are found below.

B. From the APPLICANT:
Photocopies of the following CERTIFIED TRUE AND CORRECT COPY by your school (How to certify? Have your school stamp their official seal on the photocopied documents and then have them signed by the Principal or the Head. This is just to make sure that there'll be no questioning of the authenticity of your documents by the Teachers Council of Thailand).

1. Diploma, OTR = Bachelor’s Degree

2. Passport and Work permit

3. Employment Contract in English and Thai

4. Employment Certificate in English and in Thai – at least one year teaching experience at your present school;

a. if less than a year teaching at your current school then STILL get an employment certificate PLUS use your employment certificates at previous schools in Thailand and in the Philippines

b. If less than a year teaching at your current school and NO other previous teaching experience in any school in Thailand BUT have more than a year teaching experience in the Philippines, then write a letter addressed to the Secretary of Teacher Council in Thailand requesting to take the Training on Thai Culture and Professional Ethics and permission to teach temporarily at your current school while waiting for renewal of contract.

5. 2 copies of One-page BIO-DATA (MS WORD) ( personal info.; employment background; educational background) (ORIGINAL)

6.  3 colored Photos = 1” x 1” ( white or blue background) (ORIGINAL of course)

To all teachers, many of you have expressed a concern for the current prices offered in the different centers where this seminar is offered. Now here is the one great chance for you to avail of what is probably the cheapest price we could ever find in Thailand!

So please, tell other teachers you know so they too, can benefit from this project. And get all your friends to go to the embassy this Sunday so we can account for everyone who wants to join!

And for those non-teachers, who have friends in the teaching position, please spread the word. If your friends don't know or haven't heard about this requirement in order to have their teaching licenses renewed, please tell them to find info about it NOW.

"Ignorance of the law excuses no one."

Going to the embassy this Sunday to find out what this requirement would be a wise idea.

Is this not a requirement for teachers teaching in the college level?....  Because we renewed our visa and work permit without such training....

As far as I know, foreign teachers who work at universities/colleges are exempt from this requirement.

You don't have to. You can ask someone to have your name registered provided that you provide a photocopy of your passport ( page 1 and VISA) and the payment.

Hi, there! I tried in vain looking for a way to post a new message but to no avail.

I wish to post my school's need of 1 English teacher.  Can you help me with this?

Thanks

Bayot.........................................................saan ka bs dun?

@Bingbing

Slow down, take a deep breath, start from the beginning. Take your meds if you need to.

From what I understand your complaints are:
1. Venue - nagmukha kayong squatters waiting outside
2. The embassy was not informed about the activity (?) <---- paki-clarify
3. "Wala kayong datung" (?) <---- paki-clarify. SINO ang walang datung?
4. Sino yung "kayo" as in "At bakit kayo hihindian ng embassy eh kung alam nila talaga yang pakay nyo"
