How to teach noisy and naughty students? It is a challenge, a time to face the real world of teaching job. What to do, or what action you can start to make them listen and behave well, nice and alike? No assistant, no one cares! Someone has come, sent to teach in such place. Do the students have books and notebooks? What help can the school teachers do? Have you complained or kept silent? You are a pioneer, if you don't get any help. Find yourself, find a way how to make your day.

how's work at school? do you feel tired or bored? are you doing well or better? can you go on or give up? are you drain of energy or gaining more? have you heard a praise or complain from any students and teachers? are you early, on time, or late to start and finish class, also coming and leaving the school?
I used to have a colleague, a foreign teacher and told me, "do not use your energy, use your brain." some people use much of their brain in thinking skill, some people use much of their energy in heavy work.
please post your answers, share your thought, leave your question, express your feeling, spare your time, input your information in this forum. thank you.<ajarn_ph>

Is Thai language important? It takes a long time to learn a new language. At the age of 18, the child's memory slows down. How much more to the adult people? If the Thai language is one of the problems of a person in Thailand, why not start learning by books, with a Thai teacher, tutor or friend? Test your Thai language, read how much do you know, and how many words can you remember? "No one is old to study or learn." Click here and learn "Basic Thai" started by Khun_a

Do you teach by book or work on board? I have observed for many years that the way teaching is carried out by most teachers are by books. They are bookish, they stick on the books. The same happenings in most of school levels, colleges and universities. And that's the way it should be.
Students or a class will be confused if a teacher teaches other thing outside the book topic. How do we imagining a teacher teaching lower level students without books but working on board or giving sheets all the time. I think the process of learning is very slow.
A teacher in higher level can do or share by explaining of his or her practical experiences in a specific field of study. How can teachers teach students by using theory and practical way? The science and art subject do.

The basic way to teach is to use the book and talk. The good way to be easily understood or clearly heard by the students is to say out loud repetitively and slowly. This idea can be generally applied to young and adult students. It is no use to blame or complain why they don't know or understand. If English is a foreign language to them, likewise, Spanish is a foreign language to us. In a challenge, they can speak better language compare to us respectively.

for your information: these are tabu in Siam and must be observed while in Thailand
Do not talk or discuss about the monarchy or related topic, do not touch someone’s head, do not point with your feet, and women are strictly not allowed to touch monk or his robe.

What Mr. Pinoy or every adventurous Filipino will expect and experience in a teaching job in the land of smile, Siam? In general, many teaching jobs are usually uncertain and unstable. Many foreign teachers have an available six-month teaching and salary.
The first term of school is usually in June to September. Between these four months, some teachers have holidays in a-week midterm and a-week final exams. There are more Thai holidays and schools activities or events that about three months only to teach in term one.
October is school break for the whole month.
The second term of school is usually in November to February. Between these four months, some teachers have holidays in a-week midterm and a-week final exams. There are more Thai holidays and schools activities or events that about three months only to teach in term two.
Many Farang teachers have experienced the difference of part-time and full-time teaching jobs in many schools. The term, “no work, no pay” is usually used by our fellow Ajarn Philippines who on holidays.
It is a decision of every individual to accept any contract and deal the issue at school, the teaching responsibility, and agency. These two are less or more possible: A year of work permit and a six-month salary.

hi, there megz! farang, pinoy/pinay teachers come and go, here and there, to agencies, schools and universities. those who stay are stable and really hard-working people. they must have unchanging or steady relationship with Thai colleagues. a big blessing for full-timers like them. also the part-timers toil to teach until they change, stay the same, or go home for a reason. fyi only.

Very true, this is an honest and clearer view of what one to expect in LOS. Then some get lucky as well with their companies and the others have a bit of the opposite but guess it pays to see things in a BETTER PERSPECTIVE. If one just think of the "MONEY" with less on one what is doing bet it could be a little struggle. I think work is not all about the earning but doing the job and not just doing it good, but better. It's up to one which angle to focus and rest on, this also depends on one's goal. Of course, a little scarifice is also in the package. Anyways, whatever what one is in to, do it great and at your best, not because of how much you get from it, but how does it make you feel better as a person, if it doesn't then something must not right and one has to let go and move on. Finally, would suggest the best option is to have a Work Permit regardless.
