I'm not sure if this thread is appropriate but share ko lang what I feel for being a hobbyist here sa Thailand. Then came Siampinoy, I joined activities to have Filipino friends here. We also post pictures here just for fun. Few months after, marami na mga Pinoy photograher dito. Then came that after sharing all photos, we agree to make a club. Master J facilitated it then we have SPAS now. Just after we had the SPAS, there came another photographers group na sa aking alam galing din sa Siampinoy ang gumawa o idea. All I know kaya meron tayo grupo dahil sa Siampinoy. Dito natin pinapakita yun galing natin sa photography. It sounds di ako discreet. I have to post this 'coz its annoying.

Same sentiments here my friends Woz, Lapu-Lapu and Dani. Nadagdagan ang passion ko at motivation ko sa photography because of the SPAS that we started. I went back and read the first few postings na related sa photography at ang layo na rin pala ng narating natin. Magmula nung poll kung anong name ang ipapangalan natin sa grupo pati sa pad decide ng first Photo Exhibit natin up to our Ayuthaya trip which was fun and productive. Sigurado akong mas malayo pa ang mararating natin. I guess it's time to move on another step to a more productive and positive SPAS. Go SPAS! And Loyalty ko ay nasa iyo! Mwah!

IF your attitude is not right, then even if you are surrounded by good friends and the best facilities, you cannot be happy. This is why mental attitude is more important than external conditions. Despite this, it seems to me that many people are more concerned about their external conditions and neglect the inner attitude of mind. I suggest that we should pay more attention to our inner qualities ( quoted from the meditations on happiness Dalai Lama Daily Advice)

wow, I must be too far from civilization. Lagi nalang ako huli sa news. I was into photography and sharing pictures in another pinoy site sometime last year when Master J PMed me, informing me about this site. I registered and found a home here. I never visited the other site again because this is Siampinoy- my home away from home. If the others form another group, let them be. There's nothing wrong with it unless the other group was formed out of the tipical negative pinoy mentality that has somehow managed to stow away in the plane from Pinas to Siam. I need not elaborate. But if it was formed out of the love of photography, I'd be happy to have SPAS activities in coordination with them para mas masaya. If it turns out like the U and A thing, I'm staying out of it. Pinoys had too many fights for independence, establishment and recognition since the spaniards came. We need to get over it and live as one community. C'mon pinoys! it's time to live as one--- after 110 years of independence! (pun intended)

Maybe most of us shared the same experience. I enjoyed and love this photography hobby since analog days pa. I can still remember how i choose analog camera (slr) over the newbie point-and-shoot digital camera way back that time. I really like the quality of slr camera over the digital. It was until i was hooked up with digital videography as my new personal hobby....i almost forgot my slr equipment. Using the digital video cam gives me a sense of fullfilment until i aim for more high resolution still picture that cannot give by my digital video cam...so i enter digital photography equipped with sony point-and-shoot cam. i thought it will be the peak of my digital desire and never think of another equipment...until I found my new desire in the specification that the nokia N82 phone has featured.. I said to myself, OK na iyong 5Mpixel that the phone has offered...sabi ko its so handy with a very good camera feature (not mentioning its gps function)...sabi ko ulit hindi ko na kailangan ang another digital camera eventhough my sony point-and-shoot cam is nearly end-of-life. Until one day, out of curiousity, I seach for pinoy website in thailand and saw siampinoy and became hooked up with the great photos the the spas is showcasing...I never stop to convince my wife to allow me to buy my first dslr..and the rest is history..... Although I met just some of the the spas members...in the first photo meet up in ayutthaya.....I really feel at home here... We all know that SPAS is still young by age but not in talents.... GO SPAS!!!!!

the important thing right now is for us to continue what we've started. multiple groups and all, it's what that makes us happy, what we're doing right now, counts. as long as we're not hurting someone, intentionally, let's push thru! Go SPAS. Mabuhay ang SPAS. Mabuhay ang Pinoy!

makikisawsaw ha, kahit di pa ako nagco-contribute.
Woz, I understand where you are coming from.

They devote a 1/4 page of their Sunday edition to reader entries to photographs taken in Thailand.

Kasi, however disappointed or disillusioned one gets sometimes, at the back of your head, you still hope for the most positive of things, especially if the purpose of the group is for the good of all its members. Though I'm just starting to understand the passion that lies within the heart of a photographer, I feel for the group... but as always, things happen for a reason. And I'm sure for this one, there is something else great in store for SPAS. GO SPAS!
