The Dance PDF Print E-mail

I saw you dance in my sweetest of dreams
And wondered, as wispy strands of whimsy
Brushed the curtains back to let me see,
If you were dancing for someone
Were you dancing for me?< You slowly turned, stood proud,
And your lovely fingers turned the air
Into your own transparent magic cloud
As you carefully pirouetted round
And smiled at me with eyes so fair.

What choice, or chance, had I
But to fall into the enchanting spell
Of sparkly candlelight and starlit hair
And fragrance sweetly permeating deep
Into my being, my heart, and the soul
You seem to know so very well?

What chance had I but to dance?
And what choice had I, but with you?
And as I hold your near ethereal form
In the arms that only wish
To hold you oh so long, and ever true,
I smile at your smile too.
And I dance, happily along, to the music
Only you and I are able to hear
And which God had made the heavens play
So I could dance with you.
